Payment & enrollment policies
A late fee of $500 is assessed for tuition not paid on or before the due date. Tuition not received before the start of each semester results in cancellation of classes. Rates are subject to change without notice. Dues left unpaid later in the month can result in expulsion from the program. The university reserves the right to withhold diplomas, degrees, official transcripts, and other documentation from students with outstanding financial obligations.
A withdrawal request must be submitted in writing to the Registrar of Basic Sciences or the Registrar of Clinical Medicine, along with an island clearance to the Administrative Office. Once admission is confirmed, fees are non‑refundable — except in exceptional cases where the university is found responsible for a false commitment or administrative issue, where a refund may be initiated after verification.
- Failure to maintain academic performance (Student Promotions Committee)
- Cheating, plagiarism, or other unethical academic conduct
- Violation of the laws or statutes of St. Vincent and the Grenadines
- Unprofessional behavior or emotional instability impairing judgment or patient care
Leave may be granted for medical, personal, financial, or academic reasons. Emergency leave for serious illness or a death in the family may be granted within 24 hours of written notification to the Associate Dean of Basic Science. Clinical Medicine students taking more than 30 days off during clerkships must request written permission from the Associate Dean of Clinical Medicine, specifying dates and reason. The hospital's Office of Medical Education and preceptor must be notified immediately of any personal emergency during a rotation, and missed time must be made up.
Tuition fees cannot be refunded once a student has enrolled in the program.
